Amazing Things To Do in Zanzibar

40- Stay on a Private Island

Last but not least…

Feeling fancy? The book yourself the &Beyond luxury lodge on Mnemba Island, where the sand is brilliant white and the water crystal clear. Living the dream!

With prices starting from $1,270 per person, per night, it’s certainly not cheap, but it is super luxurious and romantic. Bill Gates is a fan apparently. One for the bucket list!

I hope you enjoyed this LONG list of things to do in Zanzibar! Have you been? Anything else you’d add?

Plan Your Trip to Zanzibar

Getting There: I always search for flights on Skyscanner. Zanzibar has an international airport called Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. You can either fly in and out of here or fly into Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam and either fly or get the Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar ferry across to the Spice Island.

Travel Insurance: This is Africa and medical care is not free. If you get injured or fall sick, you will have to pay for your medical care which could be very expensive, so make sure you have comprehensive travel insurance that will cover you for all aspects of your trip. I recommend World Nomads, Outbacker, or InsureandGo.

Resources: I’m a big fan of Lonely Planet guidebooks and usually travel with one wherever I go. However, I also like the Bradt guides and they have a dedicated Zanzibar guide.

Tours: Want to visit Zanzibar with an awesome group of like-minded travellers? Then come on one of my Rock My Adventure tours to Kenya & Tanzania (including Zanzibar) or Tanzania & Zanzibar.
